Highlights
Swimming & soaking in rock pools
On days when the sea is calm, you can go down to the beach and soak in the water at the gentle rocky sections. Always watch the waves and avoid standing near slippery rock edges.
Taking check-in photos with the signature rocks
The layered rock formations and the blue sea background look beautiful in photos, especially in the afternoon. Bring a towel or a light jacket to change into if you go into the water.
Coral snorkeling (snorkeling/diving tour)
If you use the services at the beach, you can experience snorkeling with a guide, often with photo/video support. The quality of the experience depends on the weather and water clarity.
Watching the sunset on Son Tra Peninsula
The view of the open sea here is great; sitting on the rocks listening to the waves is quite 'chill'. You should aim to leave before it gets completely dark because the path down to the beach does not have clear lighting.
Tips & Notes Bãi Đá
When is the best time to visit?
Early morning or late afternoon when it's cool and the light is beautiful for photos. At noon, the sun is harsh and the rocks absorb a lot of heat, which can be quite uncomfortable.
Wear shoes with good grip
The path down to the beach has slopes and slippery rocks; wearing flip-flops makes it easy to slip. If swimming, bring water shoes to move around on the rocks.
Check the weather & waves before going
On days with high winds/rough seas, do not go near the edge of the rocks and do not go snorkeling. Prioritize sunny days with little wind for clear water.
Prepare drinking water and trash bags
Full services are not always available at the beach area. Bring enough water for your needs and remember to collect your trash and take it back with you.
Be careful with monkeys and food
Do not feed the monkeys and avoid leaving food out in the open. Keep your distance and do not tease them to minimize risks.
If taking Grab/taxi, you should ask the driver to wait
This area is not always easy to call a car for the return trip. Pre-arranging a pickup time will help you be more proactive.
