Bac Beach: 5 Tranquil Coastal Experiences on Son Tra Peninsula
About Bãi biển Bắc
Bac Beach is located on the Son Tra Peninsula (Da Nang), near the InterContinental area and the Hoang Sa coastal road. This is a relatively "low-key" beach: not too crowded, the water is usually emerald clear on sunny days, and the air is cooler than in the city center. When I visited, the most prominent feeling was the quietness and open space, a perfect way to escape the city for a few hours.
What to do at Bac Beach? If you love swimming, the morning is the most pleasant time: mild sun, clear water, and golden sand that is very "pleasing to the eye." I often walk along the water's edge, pick up a few shells, and just sit and listen to the waves—simple but truly relaxing.
In addition to swimming, you can go walking/light trekking along the trails around the area towards the stream (many groups take a route of about 4-5 km). On the way, you may occasionally encounter monkeys standing by the roadside watching; remember to keep your distance and do not feed them.
This beach is also suitable for a quick picnic: bring a mat, drinks, and light snacks. If you are a photography enthusiast, the sea-mountain scenery of Son Tra provides very "expensive" angles, especially during slanted sunlight or after rain when the sky is clear. And if you are traveling as a couple or a group of friends, take the time to watch the early sunrise and then drive along the Hoang Sa and Vo Nguyen Giap routes to complete a perfect outing.
