About Đồng Sen Trà Lý

Tra Ly Lotus Pond is a rustic lotus-viewing and photography spot located in the Duy Xuyên area (formerly part of Quang Nam, now merged into the administration of Da Nang). Far from flashy tourism, this place wins hearts with its vast stretches of pink lotus blossoms, cool green village roads, and a peaceful atmosphere true to the countryside soul.

I visited at the beginning of summer, following Google Maps to the exact location on the National Highway. Parking is free, providing a comfortable experience without being pestered. There is usually no entrance fee, but people often buy drinks or offer a small contribution to support the garden owner. The owners are friendly and will enthusiastically point out the best angles for photos if needed.

The most important tip: go early. Between 6:00 and 8:00 AM, the lotuses are in full bloom and the light is soft, making it the most photogenic time. I accidentally went at noon, so many flowers had closed, and it was hot and stuffy in the middle of the field. One thing to note is that some access roads can be in poor condition or flooded during the rainy season, and cell service is sometimes weak, so you should download offline maps or screenshot the route before turning deep into the area.

In addition to the lotus fields, there is a large lake nearby for an extra breezy walk. It is safe for those traveling with small children; just keep an eye on them near the water ditches. And remember: do not pick the lotuses in the field; if you want to hold flowers for photos, ask to buy them directly from the farmers—it is both civilized and the right way to support them.
