About the tour
Da Nang in 1 Day: A Million-View Photo Hunting Journey for Best Friends is the kind of itinerary I often lead my friends on when we only have one free day: morning coffee – a delicious lunch – afternoon sightseeing and photo taking – sunset at the beach, and ending the night with seafood. Not rushed, but still enough beautiful photos and "energy" to talk about for the whole week.
At 07:30 AM, I meet the group at Reply 1988 Cafe for a gentle start. The cafe focuses on brown – beige tones with vintage-style decor, so it looks great on camera. If you are going in a large group, you should arrive a bit early to pick a table near the window or an area with natural light, which saves time on editing. We usually order simple items, have a quick breakfast, and take a round of photos – it doesn't take too long but provides enough for an opening photo set.
From the cafe, it only takes a few minutes by motorbike or car to get to the Fine Arts Museum. I like visiting here because the space is quiet, cool, and the indoor layout makes it easy to take "artistic" photos without worrying about the sun. If you like portraits, try the staircase corners and bright wall sections. Remember to check the opening hours to arrive between 8:00–17:00 to avoid a wasted trip.
Nearby, we switch the vibe to "childhood" at the Children's Cultural Palace. No need for a serious tour; just walk around, find green patches, unique architectural blocks, and snap away. When traveling with best friends, taking candid shots (laughing, running, talking) looks more natural. A small tip is to bring a water bottle and tissues because there is quite a lot of walking, especially on sunny days.
For lunch, Banh Xeo is a must. I choose Banh Xeo Ba Duong because it’s easy for groups and the service is fast, but note that the place gets crowded during peak hours. To avoid waiting, we usually eat a bit early. The pancakes are crispy, wrapped with fresh herbs and dipped in a rich sauce; after eating, you'll just want to... take a nap.
In the afternoon, we "cool down" at WONDERLUST – a combination of a cafe and souvenir shop. The greenhouse space with lots of light is perfect for a bright, clean photo style. We rest for about 1–2 hours, drink specialty coffee, and conveniently pick up some small items (stationery, souvenirs) without having to rush to the market.
Before heading to the beach, I often stop by the Wonders Park near Thuan Phuoc Bridge for a quick set of "scenery change" photos. The park is not large but easy to shoot in; a 30–45 minute walk is enough. Then drive straight to My Khe Beach, timing it for when the sun is gentle to walk, take photos by the water, and go for a swim if you like.
At night, the whole group wraps up the day with seafood at Moc Quan in the An Hai area. The restaurant is spacious, making it comfortable for large groups to sit; order a few dishes to taste and sit back to review the "good vs. bad" photos. If you want to stay true to the spirit of Da Nang in 1 Day: A Million-View Photo Hunting Journey for Best Friends, just remember two things: go early for good light, and choose 2–3 sets of neutral-colored outfits for a synchronized look.
To me, Da Nang in 1 Day: A Million-View Photo Hunting Journey for Best Friends is not about racing through destinations, but about gathering enough "material" so a day passes quickly yet feels satisfying: beautiful cafes, artistic spaces, a bit of fun, delicious food, and the afternoon sea.
