About Review: Ho Chi Minh Museum Da Nang

Ho Chi Minh Museum (located at 26X9+F2G, Duy Tan Street, Hoa Cuong Bac, Hai Chau) is a very "authentic" stop if you want to understand Vietnamese history in a visual and accessible way. I visited on a weekday morning and was most impressed by the quiet atmosphere, allowing for a slow and engaging walk.

The great thing is that this area is usually visited as a complex: in addition to the section dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh, there is also the Military Zone 5 Museum with many war artifacts, black-and-white documentary photos, and exhibition rooms arranged by historical periods. The building has multiple floors with fairly complete captions (some areas include English), so international guests can easily follow the narrative.

Outside is an eye-catching display area of military hardware (tanks, planes, weapons...), which looks great in photos, though the midday sun can be quite intense. Overall, the campus is larger than I expected; if you want to examine each room carefully, you should allocate at least 1.5–2.5 hours.

Note the opening hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (8:00–12:00, 14:00–16:30); closed on Monday and Friday. The museum currently has a rating of about 4.3/5 with over 1,400 reviews, and based on my experience, it is a place worth visiting if you love history and culture, or are traveling with a family with older children.

Follow the exhibition route to understand the life, ideology, and historical impact associated with President Ho Chi Minh. The quiet space is suitable for walking slowly and reading documents thoroughly.

This part is usually larger and contains more artifacts: documentary photos, souvenirs, and displays according to war periods. If you are interested in modern Vietnamese history, this is the area to spend more time in.

The outdoor area has many vehicles and weapons on display, making it easy to visualize the historical context. Great for photos, but you should go early in the morning or after 14:00 to avoid the heat.

I often take photos of the room titles and some typical artifacts to look up later. This helps the visit "stay" longer, especially when traveling with older children or groups of friends.

Tips & Notes Review: Ho Chi Minh Museum Da Nang

1

Check opening hours carefully (closed Mon & Fri)

The museum only opens in two windows: morning and afternoon. You should arrive early to avoid running out of time, especially if you want to see the outdoor area.

2

Set aside at least 1.5–2.5 hours for a thorough look

The campus is quite large with multiple floors of exhibitions. While you can skim through quickly, you will miss many interesting parts.

3

Bring water and wear a hat for the outdoor area

The outdoor hardware area gets quite hot at noon. Visiting in the morning or early afternoon will be more comfortable.

4

Prepare small denominations of cash

Entrance fees usually range around 50,000–60,000 VND according to visitor feedback. Having small change helps with buying tickets and parking faster.

5

Check the event schedule if visiting on weekends

Occasionally, there are activities or tour groups that make some areas temporarily restricted. If traveling in a large group, you should call ahead to manage your schedule.
