Que Peak Tay Giang: The Latest Complete Cloud Hunting Experience Guide

Que Peak (Tay Giang, Da Nang) is a famous spot for cloud hunting and watching the sunrise in the western mountains. This area originally belonged to Quang Nam but has now been integrated into Da Nang, so you can simply search for “Que Peak Tay Giang, Da Nang” to find the correct location.

I visited Que Peak early one morning, and my first impression was the cool and very fresh air, standing high up looking at “mountains upon mountains, clouds upon clouds” in the truest sense. If the weather is nice, the clouds overflow at eye level, and the early morning sunlight pierces through to create a light golden layer on the mountainside—just lift your camera and you'll have a great photo. The afternoon is perfect for watching the sunset because the view is wide and unobstructed.

The most important point to note is the travel route. The section from the foot of the pass to the peak can be long and is undergoing upgrades periodically; it can be quite bumpy and dusty at times, especially after rain. If riding a motorbike, you should go slowly, maintain distance, and prioritize manual or powerful bikes. Those who want a more relaxed journey can go in a group or rent a high-clearance car/SUV.

At the top, there is a rest area, a camping site, and you can find homestay-style accommodation with local people (usually provided with warm blankets, clean bedrooms, electricity/water; some places even have wifi). Food and drinks should be prepared in advance, but you can also order meals according to your needs if you stay overnight. For me, the most worthwhile thing about Que Peak is the moment of standing still, listening to the wind, and watching the clouds drift through the valley—a truly "satisfying" feeling after a long journey.
