For the first time, Da Nang is organizing an Ao Dai festival, and the chosen location couldn’t be more beautiful: the Bach Dang sidewalk right by the Han River, one of the most beautiful walking streets in the city. If you plan to arrive early from April 24, this is the first spot to visit for beautiful check-ins and a cultural experience before the beach events begin.

Cultural & Heritage Events

Experience being lost in a fairytale land in Hoi An for the first time.

Stone Craft Founder Festival at Non Nuoc Stone Village

Time: May 1 – 2, 2026

The festival honors the traditional stone carving profession of over 400 years in Non Nuoc village. Visitors can watch rituals and witness artisans performing live carving. If you plan to buy stone handicrafts as gifts, visiting during this time is the best.

Exhibitions Open During the Holiday

Da Nang’s sun is very intense in April; midday from 11:00 to 14:00 is not the ideal time to go to the beach. Instead, these two exhibitions are open during the holiday, completely free and air-conditioned:

  • “Colors of Quang Land” (Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts until May 5, 2026, free) Paintings and artworks reflecting Central Vietnam culture after Quang Nam merged with Da Nang. The exhibition has clear historical significance, helping you understand more about the land you are standing on.
  • “Vietnam Intersection” (Da Nang Museum (42 Bach Dang) until May 17, 2026, free) A display space about contemporary Vietnamese cultural intersection, suitable for families and groups of friends. The museum is located right on Bach Dang street, very convenient to visit right after watching the Ao Dai Festival.

4 Practical Tips to Save Now for Enjoying the Holiday in Da Nang

  • Book your room now if you haven’t: April 30 is one of the 3 peak periods of the year in Da Nang; beachside hotels in the My Khe area usually sell out 2–3 weeks in advance.
  • Golden hours to avoid crowds: You should arrive at East Sea Park before 9:00 or after 17:00. Midday (11:00-14:00) is the sunniest and most crowded, not an ideal time.
  • Prepare for April-May weather: Da Nang has a lot of sunlight and high UV this month. Bring SPF50+ sunscreen, sun-protective clothing, and water when going to the beach. Early morning before 9:00 and afternoon after 17:00 are the ideal times for outdoor activities.
  • Moving between events: Motorbikes or electric bicycles rented by the day are the best choice. It takes about 10 minutes from the center to East Sea Park, another 15 minutes to Marble Mountains, and about 40 minutes down to Hoi An.

Suggested 3-Day Da Nang Festival Itinerary

  • April 24-25: Bach Dang Ao Dai Festival -> Beach Tourism Season Opening at 17:00
  • April 30: Sea Rescue Competition -> Sky Lantern Night at Memories Island
  • May 1-2: My Son (Colors of Cham) -> Non Nuoc Stone Village (Stone Craft Founder)

Da Nang during April 30 – May 1 this year is not just about the sea, mountains, and resting. This is the holiday most packed with experiences ever. Plan early, choose the right time, and you will have an unforgettable trip.
